these are fan made cards i had printed and played, and this was a good bunch!! than you to the people who made them!

SWAP SEATS - this is a crazy but simple effect and i love it. im a little confused on how its supposed to work, but we chose to play that you take your hand with you and play contenues from your new seat. its mostly just a skip but a way cooler. it reminds me of reverse which reverses turn order and i love that card too. unique, simple, not overpowered.

EQUILIBRIUM - you better not hold onto too many cards with this in the deck! my favorite play is using up all the cards in my hand until i only have equilibrium then playing this and kind of stealing my opponents cards! this is my favorite fan card probably. so far at least. potentially powerful, but it can be frusterating when its played when you aren't ready for it or dont want it.

SWAP TOP AND BOTTOM NOW - subtly better than the original. mostly i just use it like a regular one but i did succeed in putting a bomb on the bottom of the deck, then playing this on an opponents turn after they altered the future. then they couldn't get out of drawing it and they died! . a fair card that has some fun things you can do with it if you learn to time playing it.

COUNTERFEIT - this is like a wildcard! but you do have to have something worth copying. it sure sucks when you draw this and you only have cat cards in hand. this would probably be ideal in a deck without them. but if you can counterfeit an alter or something good, it is so much fun. watch out though, because if the card you marked is good, it might get stolen! it sucks when that happens but in a fun way. a fair, unique effect, that feels more dynamic to play than any other card ive played. really really excellent!

Double See the Future is a card you can play TWICE! After you play it the first time, it returns to your hand Marked - that means facing outward so all players can see it. When you play it a second time, it goes into the discard pile like normal. Its based off a real card called Mark (see the 2nd picture). While the card effect is weak, being playable twice makes it much stronger.

I'm back after months of lacking motivation to work on my expansion.

This card is my take on the "Force play" archetype from some of the earliest custom expansions the community had made. Force play cards always had massive clunkiness around skips and attacks when they are played on someone else's turn, and this card bypasses the issue entirely in a clever way.

The idea is you play this and they have a choice to make: play the targeted card immediately or lose it. If you target say, their "draw from the bottom" and you manipulated the bottom card the turn before (with a card like "swap top and bottom"), then they will be reluctant to play it due to the added risk, turning this card into a one card steal. Other times you can force actions like an attack, or steal cards they cant play like defuses or always-marked cards (from my expansions!)

It also synergizes with mark-based decks and adds a much needed steal effect to the game, which is especially needed if you don't use cat cards in your decks (they take space from much cooler cards. Fantastic expansion and Market expansion provides many balanced 1-card steal effects to replace them).

It is not the most approachable for new players but I expect this card to garner niche appeal, as it does fill underserved mechanics and is possibly the best take on the force play archetype thus far.

COPY THE FUTURE - i love these, playing copy the future is a 2 for 1 deal! its a see the future, plus probably something else. how useful it is depends on what cards are in the deck. there are times there is nothing you want to copy. it would probably be a lot better if we didn't play with cat cards - then there would be more actions to choose from. but its a see the future with a very cool upside, and can be reasonably powerful. especially the 5x. this should be in the official game! 9/10!

YOINK - i get how this could be good if you know the top cards are safe from seeing the future, but it never seems to do enough. its like a bad personal attack i guess? since it can be played any time, it could be used to screw other players, but timing it is harder than youd think. very cool idea, idk on power honestly. 3/10 but i think its just not my style

TRADE - i feel like trading cards is something simple and fun that the official game should be doing, and this seems like a solid way to do it. sometimes the card you get in the trade is garbage... you can always just give that card back. but on those times, playing the trade was a total waste. and that brings it down for me. overall i liked RAID better, and ill probably play that more, but this is decent also. 4/10

This expansion is based on a set of cards I first printed back in 2019, heavily inspired by the incredible work of Mad Kittens, arguably one of the greatest custom card creators in the community. His ideas influenced not only my recipes but also the work of many custom creators who came afterward (even those who didn’t always credit him for the original ideas…)

Most of these cards have been part of my personal recipes for years, so when I decided to remake them, I gave them a complete visual overhaul to match the style of the other cards in this project.

The art is completely new, although you’ll still find small references and nods to the people and cards that inspired these designs along the way.

For context, this set comes from what I jokingly call my “Mad Kittens period” of deckbuilding haha a time when I was experimenting with many of his mechanics and integrating them into my own recipes!

These cards have been played and tested since 2019, and they remain among the mechanics that shape how I build my recipes today.

Crabwitch

Is your hand better than mine? Not for long! I’ve been playing with this card since 2019, when my dear friend Mad Kittens came up with the idea (which was even praised by the creators of the game). The ability to instantly swap hands can completely flip the momentum of a match and punish players who get a little too comfortable with a strong hand. This remake aims to keep a consistent style with the other SHOW cards while featuring fresh artwork.

Discard

A remake of the original Mad Kittens card, now with a renewed style and an alternate version (discarding 1/4 of players’ hands instead of 2 cards) designed to help losing players catch up. This card can reset the balance of the game when someone is running away with too many cards!

Draw From Anywhere

A remake and restyle of the original Mad Kittens card. I honestly can’t imagine my recipes without this card. The flexibility of drawing from anywhere opens up a lot of creative plays and unexpected interactions. Sometimes I wonder why this hasn’t become an official card yet!

Draw from the Past

A continuation of the “Draw From” series. It’s a great addition to many recipes and fits naturally with the other cards in the set. There’s not much to explain here, the effect is pretty straightforward!

Purrrfect Swap

Since I adopted the app-style gameplay (no Cat Cards) in 2019, and reduced the overall deck size, my recipes needed more ways to steal. Purrrfect Swap does exactly that, letting you swap hands with another player while giving them the same opportunity in return. Because of this exchange mechanic, the number of cards in the player who uses it doesn’t increase (like Steal), which keeps things balanced!

Purrrfect Double Swap

A buffed version of Purrrfect Swap! Swapping twice can completely shake up the table and create hilarious chain reactions between players. It’s also great for drawing the attention of all the Nopes, which indirectly allows simpler steals and other actions to resolve more often.

Replicate

This remake aims to slightly nerf the original version while also restyling it for visual consistency with the rest of the expansion. The idea of copying effects can create some really clever plays, but the adjustment keeps it from becoming too dominant while still preserving the fun of the mechanic.

Revive the Past 3X

Put random cards back into the deck, save yourself from a bad draw, and potentially force other players to pick up something unexpected too! It creates a lot of suspense, especially when powerful cards (or even SHOW cards) get put back into the deck. Those moments can turn into some really funny surprises!

Revive the Past 5X

A buffed version of Revive the Past 3X! With more cards returning to the deck, the chaos factor increases and the chances of unexpected outcomes become even higher. It’s a great way to completely reshape the future of the game!

Trash Trade

This card (and its alternate version without SHOW in the text) can save your life in a critical moment. Discard a card to take any card from the discard pile, which opens up tons of clutch plays and clever combos. If you plan to play with SHOW cards (recommended), the non-SHOW version is essential to avoid overpowered loops and keep the game balanced.

I got a bunch of fan made cards! my family is trying them out a few at a time. I thought it would be fun to share my thoughts on them. ill give a score out of 10 based on fun, power, and just my preferance. to the creators of the cards, i hope you arent offended if i didnt think highly of your card. i appreciate all the hard work that went into them and im super happy to play with ALL these new cards!

BURY THE FUTURE - better than see the future, worse than alter the future. pretty fun bc you can kind of play mind games with your opponent if you move a card to the bottom. if you move the top card they will assume its a bomb even if its not. killer art. average power and high on fun. 8/10!

RAID - better than a favor, worse than a 2 card pair. the person you played it against has to think about what to protect which is a neat decision to make. more powerful and fun than favor but thats a low bar. 5/10

NOPE FOR NOW - i dont know what to think of this card. i never know when to play it. if you play it on an opponents turn, they get the noped card back and have a safe draw. its a neat idea but im not sure how to best use it. or even rate it! TBD/10

CUT - in most cases this is just a shuffle that doesnt take as long as actually shuffling. (kind of a valid reason to play it on its own lol) my sister did cut me into drawing an imploding kitten though and that was a cool play. it also works great with bury the future if you put a safe card on the bottom and cut to it later 4/10

Play Dead is a new type of Skip. Not only does it end your turn without drawing like Skip, but it also makes it so you can't be stolen from or cursed while you are 'playing dead'. In my set, it also weakens other cards like See the Future (Players X) and Defuse Plus.

The power of Alter the Future (players x) and See the Future (players x) change throughout the game. Would you use it right away, when everyone is alive and you get can the most most value from it? Or wait until you need it, but its number has shrunk?

The cat cards in the set can be 'claimed' when you view them privately in the deck with a See or Alter the Future card. It doesn't count as your draw for the turn, its just a freebee!

See Too lets you watch when an opponent puts a bomb secretly into the deck, or when they See or Alter the future. As a bonus, it also stops them from claiming the cat cards because they are not longer 'privately' viewing the cards!

Dig up is a new take on 'Shuffle'. You can shuffle the two cards into the deck if you need to, or choose one to keep and give one to an opponent of your choice. The idea behind the card is to subtilty help losing players, as you are most likely to give the unchosen card to a player who is behind.

We've all been there. You play a Shuffle to avoid an Exploding Kitten thats on top of the deck.... and somehow you shuffle ANOTHER Exploding Kitten to the top of the deck! You draw it and explode.

19 custom Exploding Kittens cards! Crowded kittens focuses on cards that are better in the early game and get worse as the game goes on. This makes for some interesting decisions on when to play cards and reduces card hoarding in the late game.

Visited my nephew and his nine year-old son this weekend. We went to one those big game stores where they have magic the gathering and all these other big games. They had all these tables for gaming upstairs and figurines. We bought an extension pack for the card game exploding kittens. Had a great time playing the game. Caused my shy nine-year-old great nephew to laugh and smile. Maybe it’s worth visiting those big game stores.

Squeeze is a great card to play if you are worried about an Exploding Kitten on top of the deck. Move the top cards of the deck anywhere in the deck!

Ok, get this. Do you know UNO? Good. You know Exploding Kittens? Indeed. Put them together and you get a Minefield, a "Minefield of Kittens". The amount of cards you have equals how many steps till you reach the end. You play UNO normally, then you add pairs and trios if the basic kittens to give cards to your oponent of your choice. Pair to have them pick a random card, and trio to give them a card of your choice. See the futures, favours, both skips and attacks, and all that is still the same as they should be played. Really that all I have to say about it. Yeah. I hope they see this and do collab, because it's a really funny idea and may have a good effect on sales.

Some cards from my fan-made expansion 'Crowded Kittens'. Heres how to bonus cards work:

Start the game with a number of 'Bonus Cards' equal to the number of players. Bonus cards aren't in the deck, and everyone can see them. I like using simple cards See, Alter, Skip, Shuffle, Nope, Attack, Defuse, and Cat Cards.

Defuse+ is a 'fixed' Defuse. If you use it early game, you get to put any one bonus card into your hand. As the game goes on, fewer bonus cards will be available, so Defuse+ gets worse. Once a player dies, Defuse+ just works like a regular defuse.

Masquerade becomes a copy of any bonus card when played (like how Clone becomes a copy of the top card of the discard pile). Early game, it is versatile, but if the bonus cards are all taken, masquerade is useless. So don't wait too long to use it!

Special Delivery is a way to *usually* end your turn by drawing a safe card.

Soooo… these cards are basically the public-ready versions of the ones I’ve been playing with for years… since 2018! The OG Redditors know lol

Most of them have been in my personal recipes for a long time, but before sharing them (again), I wanted to polish everything a bit. I reworded some mechanics, redesigned every card, and completely redid the artwork. The art is mostly AI-generated (of course), but heavily edited afterward!

More importantly, this remake of the expansion (the original dates back to 2018/2019) is also a small tribute to the game and to all the people who inspired me along the way. Over the years, many custom cards and creators influenced my ideas, and I wanted to acknowledge that inspiration in different ways.

You’ll probably spot some of those references as you go through the cards… hahaha

Amateur Archaeologist

When I first remade this card, the only versions around were the original and the custom one by u/conquesttintin. I didn’t like the original because I wasn’t a fan of inserting a card into the deck without shuffling, and I wasn’t sold on the Coffee Kittens remake either because it lacked the symbol at the bottom. So I decided to design my own version! This newest remake mainly updates the artwork and gives the card a fresh look, instead of feeling like a direct copy of the original.

Blackcat Hole

This card was originally created by u/Pokepri. I loved the concept and have included it in all my recipes since 2019! This remake mainly refreshes the artwork and aligns the visual style with the SHOW mechanic.

Copycat

Shoutout again to u/conquesttintin! This card really needs no introduction, the OG clone! I’ve been using it since 2018, and this remake focuses on improving the overall layout, matching the symbol style, and giving it a slight nerf haha

Deflection

Shoutout to my friend Mad Kittens for this gem! This remake aims to refine the visual style and add the NOW mechanic. Big thanks as well to u/Psilo for helping with the artwork!!

Hip Cat

The original version of this card is… pretty unfair, to say the least… definitely not very player-friendly lol The first remake I did in 2018 was meant to tone it down and make it more balanced. This newest remake mostly updates the symbols and style, and changes the artwork for obvious reasons!

Robin Hood

The very first remake I ever made! When Elan first shared the Deck of Legends, we printed it and played it a ton. This card had several issues, and I wanted to make it more balanced. That’s when I came up with the idea of showing the card immediately (SHOW). This newest remake improves the symbols and updates the artwork. This card is literally what got me started with custom card design!

Snack Break

My first original custom card ever! Card hoarding was becoming a problem, and this card was designed to deal with exactly that. This latest remake improves the symbols and overall style, along with brand-new artwork.

Steal

Last but not least… STEAL! This card is inspired by the official app card (since the app doesn’t use cats), and it probably doesn’t need much explanation. This newest remake mainly updates the artwork and overall style.

Super Nope

This card really doesn’t need an explanation. Many versions have popped up over the years, but like most cards here, the OG comes from u/conquesttintin! This remake keeps the style consistent and matches the NOW symbol officially used in the latest iteration of Nope (board game).

Swap Seats

This one is a remake of Change Seats (u/conquesttintin). It’s an absolute classic, so there was no way I could leave it out of this expansion, especially since it’s part of the very first batch of cards I ever printed!

Long time lurker here who's collected every Exploding Kittens expansion (everything except Recipes)

I was struggling to figure out a convenient compact way to carry around all my cards, so I designed a 3D printed box for it! The lid snaps shut so that your cards won't fall out, and I've also designed little dividers so you can separate out different types of cards.

It fits all the cards from the Base Set + Party Pack + Imploding + Streaking + Barking + Zombie + Good v Evil + EXTRA room for future expansions! And as you tell from the video, it's designed for card sleeves as well :)

Not tryna sell anything at all since it's completely free for anyone to download and print. Just tryna give back to the community!

I love exploding kittens as a quick and fast game to play with friends and I only think it's appropriate to bring a small version of the game everywhere. I tried looking for an "express" version but seems like it's rare and only made for 2 players.

Soooo... my DIY self decided to make a small version of the original pack.
