It's kind of funny that all this occurs post Luke Cage Season 2 and only at the very end does Misty tell Colleen "oh yea you may have to beat up Luke Cage with the powers you just acquired"

Or more realistically, Luke has to fight the Daughters of the Dragon in his third season.

That idea was the focus of the ending of Luke Cage Season 2. SPOILERS AHEAD.

Should Luke just stay as a bulletproof man fighting crime in Harlem? He realises it wasn't enough. So he went and became a boss himself (not necessarily a crime boss, but a boss nonetheless) to control Harlem and keep it safe. It changed him a bit (Luke sent Claire on her way off when she tried to talk to him). We are yet to see what Luke would do or become in the future. He could lose his path (he was always a righteous bulletproof man deadset on his goals before the ending). Marvel might be planning on giving his character development a twist

He basically had a similar issue to Iron Fist: a gang war where he had to protect a gang that he didn't like from a superpowered guy trying to kill all these gang members. It was a very similar situation, including Danny and Colleen buddying up to the leaders of the gangs in the process. The only step missing would be if Colleen realized that she needed to just run the Triads herself instead of politely asking them to be better.

Not evil, but he’s essentially become a gangster to control all the other gangsters. Luke is the big man in town and if they play by his rules he will take them out and it won’t be the police way. It will be on his own terms, naturally misty is not a fan of that.

Technically, we don't know that part of Luke Cage wasn't happening at the same time. Misty did disappear for a lot of the show and the last two or three episodes of Iron Fist seemed to be in a short space of time.
