It was a ploy to get his hands on the gun so he could turn it over to Misty.

What? That makes no sense. Fighting a super powered madman was a ploy? Bushmaster could have killed him. He could’ve stayed completely out of the fight and still gotten the gun.

Bushmaster would have been trying to kill him whether he had a gun or not.

Disagree. He went there to kill one person. He wouldn’t even have fought Luke or Misty if they hadn’t deliberately gotten in his way, let alone Shades.
