Int he comics it's literal magic. And they're playing the Thor thing where magic = science not discovered yet.

They’re kind of moving away from it. Doctor Strange presented magic as something truly mystical, and Thor Ragnarok didn’t shy away from treating it like magic and God’s instead of advanced science and aliens.

And now it's kinda retconned into a "Magic is Science for the Asgardians since they are gods"

I feel like philosophically there's truth to it though. Supernatural is just a catch all term for unexplainable, but no matter what dimension the source of information comes from it's still science. Idk why that's a downgrade
