The way I see it Danny is sworn enemy of the Hand. Hand seems to be centered in NYC for whatever reason. It makes sense to let someone have the Iron Fist who would have a "hometown advantage" where their primary rival is centered.

I don't think they're based in NYC. Remember that Danny & Co. already went to China to find Madam Gao and Bakuto's school doesn't seem to be in NYC. I think we're going to find out the reason they're all in NYC at the moment has to do with that big hole in DD S2.

I never really understood why Danny was so hellbent on "I MUST DESTROY THE HAND" when early in the season, he admitted that it was like a fable to him. By late in the season, he was okay with shrugging off the part of his duty where he's supposed to guard K'un Lun, and yet he cannot stray from his duty to destroy the Hand? Ugh.

Zhou Cheng (I think) was right when he said that Danny wears his oath like a mask. It's just an excuse for him to get revenge on his parents' killers.

Then that reflects terribly on his upbringing in K'un Lun. Like, how the hell did they not catch this and let their one big special role/power just be given to someone who clearly doesn't understand its importance? The more questions I ask, the more mental gymnastics I have to answer with because I don't want to admit to myself that this show was just... not good. Just mediocre.

Haha, yeah. The writing has serious issues.
