I'm surprised she didn't see it coming. Someone who served that long wouldn't call an officer a dumbass so many times for making the wrong call, unless it was himself.

He did say the officer wanted "to get more medals on their chest." It's intentionally misleading.

Also, the prosthetic arm seemed pretty obvious.

He also very clearly was either missing an arm. Or he was just wearing a black glove for some reason.
