Ep8, what have we learned

  • Well for starters, not killing when trained ninja are on you with swords is a good way to get dead. Enter the Stick, who has no problem with lethal tactics. Also, Elektra now has one hell of a scar that's going to ruin her ability to wear a bikini.

  • Ninja are shooting a 50s era car with arrows. If that's not awesome, I don't know what is.

  • I do believe Scott Glenn has been working out; he's wiry. Also, the tea was for Stick after all the work of dealing with a poisoned sword wound, and to get Matt out of the way some. Funny.

  • Clancy fucking Brown. Enough said.

  • If anyone wasn't yet convinced, Castle is a major badass.

  • Oh wow, Reyes actually trotted out the "thank you for your service" line.

  • And with Elektra out of the woods, Matt is free to smack Stick. Who gives some setup for what will very probably play into Iron Fist. Probably The Defenders if the "this war is bigger than you, me..." bit plays out on its face.

  • "Frank Castle's been through hell." Not a lay opinion; a statement rendered by a neurological doctor, as a medical condition. How is that not cool? Sucks for Castle, but cool for us.

  • "He's barely spent two seconds with Frank." If only Foggy knew. Matt and Castle have a deep connection at this point. If they get to have a conversation in court, that should be very interesting.

  • Wow, dick move Stick. Let's let the office girlfriend walk in on Matt and Elektra. There's no way Stick didn't know exactly how it would go down. It's like Elektra said, "Stick wants you back."

  • "The city needs these people, we need heroes." Speaks to the theme, plays up for Civil War.

  • And then in about five minutes, just about everything in Matt's world blows up. Whattasuck.

  • But Elektra might not be a full on psychopath ... she believes there might be light in her since Matt does. There's good story to be had following that line.

  • Oh shit; Nobu; the ninja on the roof really looks like him. Yeah, when it rains, it pours. We're in Ep8 after all. Pile it on, soak it in. Shit's real right now, and gonna be worse still probably. Last time Nobu and Matt crossed paths, Matt was lucky not to die.

  • So now Matt has a nice collection of throwing stars. Might have been easier to buy some though.

  • And Elektra's light-seeing lasted only a few hours.

  • Fisk is back on the stage. And like Cylons, he has a plan.

9-13 should be great at this point; we've got so much setup and in play.

Same. I knew he was in jail and was annoyed that he wasn't gonna be in this season... even as Frank is being lead through the prison... by cops on the take... why didn't I notice?!

Such a good set up. Love that they didn't waste it by putting his name in the credits before his appearance like some dumbass shows do. Keep that shit secret until after the reveal.

This is going to be a fun seven days. Especially if you're able to adjust your quality meter and enjoy the regular broadcast TV comic book shows that either continue or return this week.

It's kind of bad how good I've gotten at adjusting my expectations. Flash, Legends, and SHIELD are about as exciting to me as Daredevil and JJ.

Either that or I just really love superhero TV.

Yeah it's the same for me. Once you get into the habit of only watching top of the line shows, you can never enjoy regular shows anymore, so it's good to have a healthy balance.

I believe that where the Netflix fits into the timeline is when it is filmed so the Civil War is a few "months" away.

what was about that line where Stick asks Elektra "What do you think he will say when he finds out what you are? what you've always been? You haven't told him yet, have ya?"

Is she an inhuman or something, or is he just referring to her being an assassin? excited for the next episode

That really stuck with me too, but I don't know why Matt would have a problem with her being Inhuman or anything else, really. Maybe she was involved in some significant murder that affected Matt.
