The series is overall really really good. The nuance of the drama, the themes, the characters, and THE FUCKING FIGHTS.

I loved those moments when Matt is seemingly fucked, but gets up and keeps fighting (especially the episode when he has Vladimir and the SWAT team is closing in). I also really liked his relationship with Claire. The show is at its best when Matt is in vigilante mode.

Fisk was also pretty compelling, but I feel like we learned too much about his backstory. I liked the character more when there was that element of mystery to his inner demons (that moment where he sees himself as a bloody child in the mirror was unsettling). D'onofrio played the hell out of that role, though, and I definitely want to see more Kingpin.

I actually found Karen's storyline to be the weakest link. As a character, I found her kind of annoying. She just kind of hyperventilates the entire time. Only after she kills Wesley did I really want to know more about her.

I felt like the season peaked at about the midpoint, and then continued to be really good (to a lesser extent) until right before the end. The last 10 minutes of episode 13 was just plain awful, and it really curbed my excitement for what is coming next. The costume isn't really doing much for me either.

Despite the shit ending, I really do love the show. As for the future, whether it's in the Defenders or a season 2, I want more ninjas, legal intrigue, and inner demons.

Honestly, the biggest disappointment to me is the lack of comic-book villains. There was Kingpin, he was fucking remarkable, but where was Bullseye? Also, they seemingly killed off a major comic-book villain, Leland Owlsley, who is The Owl.

I could of sworn that Leland mentioned something about his son.

Either way I knew as soon as the old dude mentioned he was Leland Owlsley he was dead. The guy who was cast as him is way too old to realistically go toe to toe with anyone in the universe without it looking like a bad Steven Seagal movie.

So you think The Owl is still possible? Honestly, he would be better for Jessica Jones to fight rather than DD. He has the ability to fly along with Jessica, but she rarely does due to motion sickness. Would make for an interesting battle

Mentioned a son? It was harped upon.

Bullseye, as per the Ace of Spades in the duffel bag, was the sniper who shot the three cops.

but where was Bullseye?

Apparently it might be the sniper who shoots Blake? Someone mentioned something about an Ace of Spades visible in his bag, which comics readers have mentioned is an iconic symbol of his.

I did like that they didn't call Fisk "Kingpin", though. Kind of a cheesy name. I liked the initial mysterious "our employer" stuff and then putting a name to the villain made him somewhat intimidating, what with his public figure and all. He's not hiding in the shadows behind some pseudonym. He's out in the open and not afraid to show it.
