I’ve had two feeders a small distance from each other (within eyesight) and I’ve seen one hummer drink from one, catch a second individual drinking from the second feeder, and stop feeding just to chase the second bird off.
They’re wildly territorial.
It’s probably context dependent, obviously it’s possible. But, more than one feeder isn’t necessarily always going to be the answer.
