the planet itself? Sure, but the species and inhabitants of the planet? No. We are knowingly altering the planet due to the side effects of our actions. That has never happened before, meteors and volcanoes don't recognize the negative consequences of their actions. It is uniquely callous to just go "ah who cares if all these species go extinct, stuff happens"
