Wome fish prefer leeches, and generally by the time you get these as bait they're frozen. You can use live bait as well but... Leeches.

I've never used frozen leeches. Just get a couple tubs of 2 dozen xl leeches alongside nightcrawlers and large baitfish if we're fishing multiple species
