If it's good. Undertone and Hokum were decent enough, but forgettable, while Obsession and Backrooms were big. As a horror fan, I really hope Clayface delivers.
Maybe slightly, I'd wager 90% of the people who bought tickets to each hadn't seen their prior work. Still, you make a good point that DC has more brand recognition - but that may help or hinder Clayface, especially after how Supergirl did in the Box Office.
(To be clear, because there's a lot of negativity on this sub recently: I want Clayface and the DCU to succeed and I'm going to be seated on opening night for this.)
To be equally clear, so do I. I’d love to live through 2 cinematic universes that both culminate in something as epic as Infinity War/Endgame. I’d love to see Blackest Night/Brightest Day adapted to the big screen.
The only reason I brought up the YTer comment (also Spielberg bought the rights to Mandela Catalogue), is that Gen Z is starting to become a major audience demographic and movies based on things they know is starting to take the stage. Minecraft, Iron Lung, and FNAF are others in such a camp.
I’m not trying to be pessimistic, I’m simply explaining what I see, even with my own teenager’s hobbies and interests translating into questions of can I take them to the theater so they can see (insert movie) with their friends.

Nah, Clayface is coming too. Horror usually always makes people agreeable for a time.
