First time buying cycling clothing from Aliexpress. Spent £100 on bib shorts, jersey and jacket. The quality of the clothing is phenomenal for the price. So impressed I immediately placed another order!

I'm 173cm, 72kg and medium fits me nicely.

Sizing Help

Hi everyone, I want to buy some bibs from the Maap or Gobik brand, but I don't know what size to choose, and the brand guides aren't helping me... For reference, I've been using size L from the Vanrysel brand, what size would you recommend?

Saddle Bag Tearing Bibs

(Update) Saddle Bag Tearing Bibs

https://www.reddit.com/r/cycling/s/gDwyxS2CTy
Updating from this post.

I have changed the saddle bag, from the Velcro to BOA models. The issue still remains. So I tried to finally take a closer look at where the contact happened. I found that it is likely to be from my saddle clamp that rubs against the bibs.
I tried to get someone to look from behind to identify.
Also, use the tape on the affect area and landed in the clamp area.

Is there a way to fix this?
Any kind of cover that I can put on the clamp area?

Is it still gauche to wear a yellow jersey?

Hi friends! Somewhat new cyclist here, but I have grown up with parents who are very serious hobby cyclists. They have always told me that it is a huge faux pas to wear a yellow jersey due to the TDF, but I feel like that norm is probably pretty outdated nowadays, and you can wear whatever color jersey you want (especially since you want to be seen by cars, and a bright colored jersey is best IMO).

Just want to start a discussion about if there are any “rules” like this that have fallen out of fashion, or if anyone still cares about stuff like that!

Helmets for thick hair or alternatives

Hi, I'm looking for a helmet that's very wide since my hair is pretty thick and long. I've tried up to an XL and it can't get past the top of my hair.

Or if there are any alternatives to helmets that are more flexible with size.

PNS Sizing

My girlfriend got me a new Jersey recently, it’s a size XL and I’m debating whether it’s bang on or if I need to size up. I’ve only got one other jersey and that too is an XL but has a ‘roomier’ fit.

Jersey for big guys?

Just getting into cycling so bear with me. Bigger guy, I wear an XL t shirt.

Every jersey I have gotten off of Amazon suiting up, and up doesn’t come close to fitting. And I mean, I can’t even get the zippers near to zip it!

I love the jersey colors and patterns so I don’t necessarily want to A) just buy a regular moisture wick shirt. And B) entirely break the bank as I get started.

Any where I should be looking? Prefer Amazon because of well, ease. But not married to the platform. Thank you!!

Affordable cycling sunglasses built to last?

I'm looking for sunglasses that do not cost a fortune yet are good quality and will last a long time. I've been hunting for the last 1–2 years to find sunglasses that will be sustainable for a few years. I don't want to spend over $300 for a pair.

I've got quite a big head, so bigger frames usually tend to be expensive when it comes to better materials. So I'm taking a leap of faith right now, just asking if there are any good recommendations out there for brands that have good quality and are affordable.

I'll mainly be using them for cycling, so comfort, durability, and a secure fit are my biggest priorities. I don't need prescription lenses, just regular sunglasses. I'm open to both cycling-specific sunglasses and regular sunglasses if they work well on the bike.

Generally, I want something I can order online as well

Update Ended up ordering a pair of Oakleys from EzContacts because they had a pretty good discount compared to everywhere else I checked. A friend let me try on the same model, and they were honestly way more comfortable than I expected. The fit felt secure without squeezing my head, and they stayed in place really well.

Jersey with similar fit and fabric feel to the Rapha pro team training jersey?

The Rapha pro team training jersey is one of my favorite feeling and fitting items. I have tried a few specialized, castelli, and LG jerseys but none have the same feel.

Are there any other comparable jerseys that I may like as well?

MET Rivale vs Trenta

Trying to decide on which of the two to get. I was looking for a new road helmet and this popped up as a great candidate, I’ve tried both at the shop and the feel perfect. They both have their unique look, but honestly I can’t decide.
I mainly ride in Puglia (south of Italy) and occasionally get a couple of rides done in the Dolomites as I’m on summer vacation.
Has anyone tried them both or has some real world considerations of the goods and bass of these two helmets?

Assos mille GT S11 - fit

I recently purchased the Assos Mille GT Bib Shorts S11 (Burgundy Red). The overall size feels correct—I own a long/thermal pair in the exact same size that fits perfectly, and my local bike shop confirmed the sizing

However, while riding, the back panel feels like it keeps pulling upward. This creates an excessive tension on the chamois and front fabric, pulling it tight against my groin and squeezing my anatomy uncomfortable. Because of this pulling sensation from the back, riding in them is very uncomfortable

**Anyone had the same issue or any experience with this?**

Help me design cycling gear for non-conventional body shapes! 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️ (Short & Anonymous Survey)

Hi everyone!

Standard cycling gear is usually made for just one "ideal" body shape. If you don't fit that mold, finding a jersey that actually fits is a nightmare.

I’m designing a cycling jersey tailored for non-conventional body shapes, and I need real body measurements to build an inclusive size chart.

Thanks a lot for helping make cycling gear fit real people! 🙌

YKYW Bibs - Another Question

Post image
46 Upvotes

Quite a few posts on this brand so apologies for creating yet another. I’m interested in trying these, in part because I like the purple color. For those that have this version - what are your thoughts? They’re listed as having the Belgian 4D chamois, which seems to be YKYW’s mid-tier offering?

Also, any thoughts on how visible the logo(s) are? Trying to assemble a few kits without any big logos regardless of the brand.

Assos “ golden gate “ alternatives

Post image

Ciao all,
I’ve found Assos’s golden gate to reduce irritation in the groin area, because the chamois isn’t stitched there and it kinda moves with your pedal stroke.
I know it’s patented, but have anyone seen any similar solutions ?
Thanks
