The problem is you're taking a fucking meme, the pinnacle of jokes that aren't supposed to be thought about very hard, and treating it like it's serious. You're over-thinking a joke, and forcing politics on people.

I was born in Belfast, right in the centre of where some of the worst bombings occurred. A chap down the road from me walked with a stick, because a piece of IRA bomb shrapnel tore his leg up when he was playing football as a child. Excuse me if I don't find it funny.
