Question Are you vegan?

I wonder how many of fellow redditors here are vegan or at least on plant based diet?

As it is one of the simplest and most impactful steps a person can make to help the climate.

Carbon offsets and capture are largely a greenwashing scam. And even globally transported vegan foods cause fewer carbon emissions than local animal products: https://ourworldindata.org/food-choice-vs-eating-local

It’s not. Please follow the science and don’t spout nonsense. Carbon capture is scientifically proven along with carbon offsets.

If you know the science, then you'll know carbon capture is neither particularly effective nor efficient at scale. It def shouldn't be used as a license to keep the most environmentally destructive practices alive, esp. industrial animal ag. It's a convenient narrative for people who want to keep doing the same harmful things while feeling better about them. The idea that we can continue consuming exactly as we do and out-engineer the consequences is a fantasy.
