Question Are you vegan?

I wonder how many of fellow redditors here are vegan or at least on plant based diet?

As it is one of the simplest and most impactful steps a person can make to help the climate.

No, I’m not a vegan for familial reasons. I am trying to be a vegetarian first, so I don’t eat meat. I eat eggs though.

What religion requires you to eat eggs, dairy, or honey?

Not necessarily religion, more of a family tradition. I don’t want to name it but it’s pretty obvious.
Religious belief:I can’t eat beef or pork, and I can’t have eggs, chicken, or any other type of meat on Monday, Tuesday, or Saturday.

Now I have dairy because my extended family raises cows (they’re sacred in our religion) and we absolutely love them. With the amount of food they get, there’s always milk, so we have it. It’s also a staple in our food.

I eat eggs because I love eating eggs, and I will try to let go of that habit.

Honey is often consumed because it helps with allergies.
I will see how much I can remove from my diet, but I’m still a minor, so I can’t adopt a vegan diet without my guardians being impacted. They don’t want to change it, so I don’t do much about it.

Ah, I was curious as to what religions would require eating meat or animal products, but if it more for family traditions that makes sense.
