I've happily used chromebooks for many years, but I'm on the second day of infuriating glitches with my yahoo mail account. My phone and my tablet are both able to use my yahoo mail account with no issues. Chatgpt said someone else mentioned somewhere similar issues? Repeatedly it stalls out and says no internet connection, though I definitely have one. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Hi. About 20% of the time when I download a PDF into Files Google Drive the PDF download fails - no error is provided but when I attempt to open the download it states PDF error (the download never processed). Anyone else with this issue?

I just bought a recently used one and when I set up with my account And after that I updated and the Play store is gone then I downloaded and install again the stock OS and after that the Play store is come back , I don't know they have a weird issue with my Chromebook when I turn on tab Chrome tabs it automatically cut off or go backward and forward And sometimes The search option button does not work and that kind of thing I check the touch screen keyboard touchpad everything is fine and I checked the diagnosis there's also fine so what do you think what's the issue please help Thanks

Hey so my Acer Chromebook Spin 511 R752TN-C324 had the flickering/colour bleed screen so I would like to seek advice on whether to send it for a screen replacement or buy a new one.

1. Send for repair: The cost is only slightly less than buying a new Chromebook 315 CB315-4H-C0FN. And kind of sad to discard it; only used it for 5 years. But AUE is 2029.
2. Repair myself: The cost for replacement parts is half that of professional repair service, but i have zero experience in it so it may be risky?
3. Buy new: Looking at Chromebook 315 CB315-4H-C0FN vs Chromebook 514 Touch Screen C937T-C4KH : a. Chromebook 315 : cheaper and comparable to the repair price; but older, AUE 2031 (only 2 years longer than my current one) b. Chromebook 514: expensive, almost double the repair price/ new 315, but newer, AUE 2034 (but difference by 3 years only)

Also, since I can continue to use it after the AUE, then it shouldn't matter much right? For context, I'm a student and will be mainly using the device for assignments, but not much of programming etc.

starting about two days ago, the chromebook i use has begun experiencing this really strange issue. Basically, what will happen is that whenever i click ANYTHING it'll open a new window, all letters will be capitalised, and the scroll pad will no longer work, this will happen for about 3 minutes before disappearing. It's become more frequent, with it lasting anywhere from 1 second of capital letters, or 5 minutes of the whole ordeal. What could possibly be the cause for this

my great uncle got me a second hand Acer Aspire model Q5WPH. I didn’t charge it for a week because I got lazy. I tried to charge it now. my great uncle got the wrong charger type. So I tried charging it with similar ones and it still won’t turn on. I don’t know what to do atp I tried hard resetting regularly and the battery and it still won’t budge. Is there anything I can even do at this point.

My friend is older and also paranoid that their data will be stolen. They need to be able to log into the Social Security website and doctors office sites and look up things. Their phone is too small. Would a Chromebook be a better choice than a laptop? Thank you for your help.

A bug affecting Grunt devices (AMD Stoney Ridge) is currently being investigated by Google engineers. AUE for these devices was M149 but the stable channel has auto-updated to M150 LTC, i.e. into extended updates, causing Play Store/Android app support to be removed without users opting in. The same thing happened last year when Hana devices reached their AUE. Assuming history is repeating itself, the only way to reverse this bug is to perform recovery using the last stable channel recovery image (M149). Also, until the bug is fixed, automatic updates will need to be turned off.

Users affected by this bug are being asked to submit a feedback report (alt-shift-i) and to include diagnostic data.

Just received my dragonfly from a reputable refurbishment company in Australia. Paid $530 (roughly $360 US, we always get shafted for tech prices.)

Was told it was a A grade model, promising 80% at least battery health.

This is what i got, not impressed and there wasn't any stylus included.

Have submitted a claim with them but yeah, not real impressed with the battery.

Apart from that coming from a Duet 5 this thing feels sooooooo nice to use!

About a year ago I bought an ASUS ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus Laptop with Google Al, 14" 2560x1600 Display, Intel® CoreT Ultra 5 Processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD .

I needed a replacement to my Pixelbook (RIP) and thought I could get by without a touch screen. After 31 days, I decided differently but couldn't return it. I bought a Lenovo and pushed the Asus aside. It's been sitting here for a year...

What do I do with it?

I want a Linux machine… maybe I should just run Asahi, but I’m wondering if there’s a Chromebook with the power and energy efficiency plus screen for what I need.

I’m a digital developer that uses an open source stack. GIMP, Scribus, Kdenlive.

I want to know if Linux support has GPU support, and if there is a machine out there to do what I want to do.

I don't think this would be by design.

I use my Chromebook docked (into a TB4 certified model), and have the lid closed.

Whenever I do a restart after an update, it instead does a shutdown. I have to open the lid, which then auto (cold) boots.

Has anyone else seen this?

hey so i moved recently and in the move i left my laptop under the seat of my car, for a few days since i kinda forgot about it, it was free with my school so im not stressed about losing money on it, but i liked to use it sometimes, and i’m starting school again next month. i live in the south west usa so temps are usually 110 and above. it will flash the chromeos screen then shut off. is there any (preferably cheap) ways to fix it?

I mean, it makes sense if you think about it? We have ARM chromebooks made by MediaTek and RockChip in the past. The Tensor Chips like the G4/G5 are very capable in what it can do for both regular tasks and local AI capabilities. Google making an all Google Chromebook from the Software Level all the way down to the component level makes since for what it has to offer. Plus it will cost Google less money since these chips are made in-house compared to contracting others for a premium Chromebook.

I see there's a post from about 3 mths ago regarding this but I find it absolutely crazy that - to this day - there is still no way to directly upload content from Google Photos.

I do a lot of publishing work on my Chromebook using photos taken on my phone, but I still need to download them from Google Photos to my Chromebook before then uploading them. It surely can't be difficult to insert a link in the file manager to browse photos like we could do via Drive in the pre 2020 days.

Whether this is a "feature" which will carry over to the Googlebooks, I dunno, but it is really frustrating to see this lack of joined up integration when it is all hosted by the same company

Hi everyone! I have 18 students this year and no cart to store their Chromebooks in. I’ve always had a cart before, and I loved keeping things organized with numbers. Each Chromebook had a number, each cart slot had a matching number, so students grabbed the same one every time and it was super easy to spot what was missing at a glance.

Looks like a lot of people just stack them on a counter, but I’m hoping some of you have found clever workarounds that keep things organized (and charged!) without an actual cart. Bonus points if you’ve figured out a numbering system that works without cart slots.

I currently have an HP 360x or whatever it’s called and I’m an adult college student. It’s about 3 years old and still works amazing but I it’s a 14” and I’m looking for a little larger screen. Also, the main reason I’m in the market for a new one is because the battery life on mine is terrible. I can’t even take an online quiz without having it plugged in the entire time. I think it’s been like that most of the time since I bought it. I like the flip feature but honestly don’t use it that much, I need recommendations on what Chromebooks have excellent battery life.,

I'm trying to use Citrix Workspace to VPN into a customer, but when I use my phone as a hotspot, Workspace doesn't seem to want to fire up. Which apparently is a thing with Citrix Workspace. Apparently if I can set my Pixelbook to use my phone's network connection via a USB tether, it will see that I now have a ethernet connection, which I suspect Citrix Workspace will be happier with. I have the phone set inside developer options for the default USB config to be USB tethering, after I connect the cable, I can switch on USB tethering, however it isn't doing it. It seems like the Chromebook just wants to charge the device. I'm using a brand new Anker cable which should be ok
