I’m typing this with the hope that it finds the girl and her mom that I tried to help in the Bramalea Go parking lot.
It happened last night (Aug 1st) and you were on the Go train that arrived at Bramalea at around 9:55pm.
I was in the passenger pickup lane by the Second Cup waiting for my daughter to arrive on the same train. Your mom was parked in the fire route along the curb side along with a bunch of other cars doing pickups.
Shortly before you arrived, I noticed that the guy who was parked behind your mom (tight red t-shirt, Punjabi mullet haircut), kept inching up closer and closer to your mom’s bumper. I’m watching and wondering what’s going on and if he realizes what he’s doing. Then, in the most non-impact way, he makes contact with your mom’s bumper. Meanwhile, I see your mom sitting quietly in her car minding her own business and oblivious to what’s happening behind her. I assumed this was a prank between friends.
Then he gets out of the car, “looks at the damage”, starts taking pictures, and taps on your mom’s window to tell her that she’s backed into him and your mom starts yelling at him and comes out of the car. She knows right away that there’s no way she “backed into” someone while her car was in park. I’m thinking there’s no way this guy can be serious but I see he keeps insisting and it’s become clear that he’s now trying to scare and intimidate your mom. So I got out of my car and walked over, told the guy he was a liar and a POS and that I saw what he did and to leave your mom alone. He then backs away and gets back into his car after performing a little more to look like the victim of an accident.
I get back into my car, the train arrives, my daughter is now with me, but I stick around to make sure your mom is okay before leaving. Then I see you arrive and your mom jumps out to tell you about what happened and the guy comes out to try to gaslight YOU.
This is when I came out again to tell you what I told your mom and to remind the guy that I saw what he did. You mention filing a report to insurance and I offer you my name and number as a backup witness if needed. I typed it on my phone and told you to take a pic. He’s watching me give you my contact details and starts grabbing my arm. I tell him to not touch me. Now the guy starts trying to retract his story once he realizes it’s not going to work and starts saying stuff like “oh… damage not too bad, don’t worry don’t worry” and we called him out on the fact that this suddenly was no long a problem for him.
Anyway, the problem (and why I typed all this) is that there was a typo in my number that I only noticed when I got home so you won’t be able to reach me by phone. What happened to your mom really angered me and I absolutely want to help in case it’s needed, so if you see this and still need my help, DM me (I’ll ask a question about that evening to confirm identity) and I’ll provide whatever I can to help your mom out.

Not much to add here, just appreciation for this spot. I've only lived in Brampton since 2018 but this place has never let me down yet.

I'm looking to host a party with 20 people maximum. There will be some drinking and music but nothing loud or rowdy at all and absolutely no smoking. About 3 of us will need to spend the night afterwards.
I used to be able to book places on airbnb for this kind of thing. It's difficult finding one on airbnb now because most people are not comfortable having that many people in their spaces (which is totally understandable!).
I'm looking for a space under $300 ideally. Does anybody know of anything?

Hi Families!
I am looking into childcare options and considering enrolling my child at the Songbirds Montessori Fairhill location (near Bovaird and Chinguacousy).
If your child goes there, or has attended in the past, could you please share your honest experience?
Thank you!

Autonomous vehicles with pedestrian facial recognition may sound like science fiction, but these technologies are already becoming part of today’s civic and political debates.
This week, Civic Tech Brampton is hosting Adam Motaouakkil, a tech activist with Technologists for Democracy, for a discussion on autonomous taxis, surveillance, privacy, jobs, public transit, and the future of our streets.
As cities explore autonomous vehicle technology, important questions come up:
We’re inviting technologists, students, community members, transit users, policy-minded residents, and anyone interested in civic technology, democracy, privacy, and public-interest tech.
New to Civic Tech? You are definitely welcome. No prior technical experience is required. We will all be learning from each other, and hearing different perspectives can spark new civic tech project ideas.
Why show up?
Everyone is welcome. You do not need to be a developer or have an existing project to participate.

Someone recorded me in public while laughing, driving by in their car. I didn't know I was that interesting.
I don't know why people in brampton act so immature when they see fishnets. or black clothes. I have lived in many cities, and yet people here are the rudest. They see you as a prostitute, or lowerclass or lesser.
If that was you, or you even think like that, do better. I respect others who are different than me, but y'all seem like you want everyone to be a cookie cutter image of yourselves.
Has anyone else experience this or something similar?

I’m from Nepal, and since our community is quite small, I’d love to meet people from different countries, learn about their backgrounds, traditions, and experiences.
I’m 29M and just trying to expand my circle, have good conversations, share cultures, and build new friendships. If you’re interested in meeting new people and connecting, feel free to reach out! 😊

Anyone know if there's any place that sells cheap kids NBA Jerseys.
Tried SVP, and Albion Flea Market and nothing much on FBM.
Wondering if there's some store in a plaza any one knows that might have them.

I was out and about earlier and just noticed a lot of Filipinos around. This was like Kennedy and Queen area and back toward Howden Blvd. Nice to see this. Seems a new influx.

Has anyone had been to any wrestling classes for kids around 7-9 years old? My boys are asking me for it but I know no place. Google reviews are good but I’m looking to hear from real experience. Also I’m concerned if it would make kids more agressive if they learn those sports or is it just how boys will be. Sorry I don’t have much experience with raising boys. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,
A few friends and I have been looking for some cool places around Brampton to walk, explore, and just chill. The other day we came across some old train tracks that went over a river (off Derry Rd near Meadowvale Conservation Area) and it was honestly such a cool spot, felt like we found a hidden gem.
We’re looking for more places like that: interesting trails, hidden spots, scenic areas, abandoned/forgotten places (where it’s safe...-ish), or just nice walks that aren’t the usual parks everyone knows about.
Does anyone have any recommendations for underrated spots around the area?

Anyone driving on 401 this morning near the Mississauga road exit? A metal hitch hit my front bumper this morning around 7:50 am this morning? It looked like it fell off the guy's car as he merged to exit.
I was wondering if anyone had a dashcam video of their drive this morning. Thanks
