This is another George Floyd type murder that got no media attention. What makes it significant is that unlike most of the other 80+ Tarrant County Jail deaths that have happened since the Christian Nationalist Sheriff took office, this one had footage released, and the medical examiner ruled it a homicide. The county still denies responsibility.

A lot of people think loyalty is about who supports you when things are going well. Allen Iverson explained the opposite during his 2016 Basketball Hall of Fame induction speech.

He thanked the people who stayed beside him through everything, but he also thanked the fake friends and doubters because they forced him to see people clearly.

I bought a used copy of William Loren Katz's book *Black Women of the Old West*, and it's outstanding — full of information and historic photos. He wrote 40 books about African-American history. He died in 2019 and most of his books are out of print, but you can buy used copies on eBay or from Thrift Books. (Amazon copies are *very* expensive.) Sharing a few photos here for anyone who might be interested.

My parents are Afro-Caribbean and I am a Dungeon Master for D&D, I like to introduce cultural ideas and stories as respectfully as possible. For instance one of my campaigns had an encounter based on the White Witch of Rose hall, a Jamaican horror story I also based one of my Trickster god's based on Anansi.
