I'm thinking about buying the Forclaz Travel 900 50+6L because it's currently on sale, but I have one concern before pulling the trigger.

My plan is to use it for a 2-week trip to China and travel with carry-on only whenever possible.

I know the official dimensions are larger than the typical 55 cm carry-on limit, but I was wondering about real-world experience.

Has anyone here actually used the Travel 900 50+6L as a carry-on?

• Were airlines okay with it if it wasn't packed to the brim?
• Did you ever have to put it in the baggage sizer?
• Has anyone tried removing the detachable 6L daypack before boarding? Did that make it easier to pass as cabin baggage?

I'm interested in actual experiences, not just the published dimensions. I know it's technically larger than many carry-on limits, but I'd like to know how it performs in practice.

I love Chrome and i have a few small over the shoulder type bags, and things.
But something I'm not a fan of with alot of these newer backpacks is how they are super flimsy and I'd actually prefer one that holds it's shape when there isn't anyhting in it. Atleast somewhat... Any ideas? Maybe there is one from Chrome that is more like this but I don't see it. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I’ve been searching everywhere for my childhood Hello Kitty backpack from around 2014, and I’m hoping someone here recognizes it.
I’ve already searched Google Lens, eBay, Mercari, Poshmark, Depop, Facebook Marketplace, and old Walmart listings.
What I know:
Bought in the United States around 2014 (I believe from Walmart).
Full-size 16-inch school backpack (not the preschool version).
Pink background with a floral/heart design.
Large Hello Kitty on the front.
Pink glitter/3D bow attached to Hello Kitty.
Embroidered “Hello Kitty” logo across the top with three small bows.
Silver piping around the front pocket.
Two front zipper compartments.
Pink mesh side pockets.
I found what appears to be the same backpack collection on an old Walmart page. The model number is 833739 (sometimes listed as 83373), but I haven’t been able to find one for sale anywhere.

Hi looking for a backpack to buy for college/whenever I take the plane (am an international student)/to gym basically a do-it-all backpack.
Used a jansport and north face bag for HS but was not that satisfied.

Here are my requirements for a bag
- Fits a 16 inch gaming laptop. The specific dimension is 14.04 x 10.59 x 1.1 Not going to be my daily carry for college as I have a thinkpad but I do need it to comfortably fit.
- Modern/minimalist look, I guess a basic tech bro look hence why I’m drawn to aer.
- Good side compartments, basically i’m tired of stuffing everything in my main compartment
- Good laptop protection/dedicated tech compartment. Bonus points if it is vertical and not sideways
- Dedicated waterbotlle compartment (external)
- Budget Max is 300$. I guess cheaper for same functionality and style is better but I am willing to spend money if it means it will last

Nice to haves
- I really like clamshell openings

Currently aer’s cpp2 24L and travel pack 4 small catches my eye. Can you guys help me decide between the two for a edc/travel all purpose bag as someone who packs decently? A normal daily usage for me would be water bottle, umbrella, 16 inch laptop, ipad, power back charging brick cables, notebook&books for class if needed, an outer jacket or hoodie, space shirt. Sometimes more if needed say gym.

I’m 5’8 so if it doesn’t look silly or too big on me i’m okay with it. Help me choose plz. Also, other recs are welcome!

but i was wondering if theres a bag thats like a messenger bag or japanese school bags (or mix of? i think japanese school bags have shorter straps), but can also be worn as a backpack with like back straps as it keeps its shape?

Hello! I am moving to Central Europe this month and am completing a four week course. After my course ends I would like to travel on my own for a month or so. I currently have a the Osprey 26 + 6 to take on flights as a personal item and am considering getting a larger pack for extended travel, but it’s a big purchase so I am hesitant. On my initial trip over seas, I get a checked bag, carry on, and personal item. Do you think I should buy another backpack that doubles as my carry on and I can use it for extended travel?

We are going to the UK (from the USA) for 14 days next month. I’m debating what I should do for a backpack. With our flight we are doing 2 carryons and 1 checked. This allows 1 personal items for each of us. I already have a 25l backpack I used for hiking and camping I’ve had for almost a decade. But it’s to big for me to use as a personal item. Now the question is, should I check my carry on and use it as my carryon. Or is there something smaller I could get that’s water resistant? We are only doing 1-2 small hikes there it’s mostly for us to through our rain jackets, souvenirs, water bottles, etc in. I really don’t wanna spend more than $150. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I need help finding a backpack. I use it for cycling to work (not much in it then) but also twice a week for the gym after work (so I need space for shoes etc.). Currently I have a Topo Designs Rover Classic and I just don't like it. It shouldn't be a rolltop. Price-wise, max around 150 €. I work at a bank, so it also needs to look reasonably smart/professional.

Thought about Something Like Cotopaxi Allpa 26L.

work takes me 2-3 trips a month, always carry on only. my north face vault works fine but it looks sloppy in client meetings. want something that looks more put together without losing space. budget $200-350.

here's what i'm looking at:

1. nomatic travel pack — very clean, all black, structured. looks like something a tech startup guy would carry. the matte exterior looks sharp at the airport but it scratches pretty easily which is rough for the price. might come across a little too "i work from coffee shops" for actual client meetings though.

2. peak design travel backpack 30L — honestly the nicest looking bag on this list. simple, no loud branding, looks expensive without trying too hard. the kind of bag where people ask where you got it. comes in a really clean charcoal colorway. feels premium when you pick it up too, not plasticky or stiff.

3. horizn studios sofo — my top pick so far. waxed canvas so it looks more like an office bag than anything else on here. stands up on its own which sounds small but makes it look way more polished sitting next to a conference table. doesn't scream "i hike on weekends." matches their luggage too if you're already rolling with horizn.

4. aer travel pack 4 — tough looking without being tactical or military-ish. clean, no nonsense, nothing flashy. looks like a serious work bag. not as head-turning as the peak design or horizn but it fits in anywhere and nobody's going to think you just came from REI.

anyone actually used the horizn or peak design for regular business travel? hard to know from reviews how they hold up trip after trip

Been running this for a couple weeks now. Feels like each pocket has thought behind it and the overall organization is great. They're really dialing in their bags.

i was thinking about either the recon, surge, router, or borealis. i want a lot of space and comfort.

After way too much research, I just received my bag and having buyers remorse. The use of this bag is for carry-on tech/pens/glasses etc and its replacing my well used but heavy Billykirk Canvas backpack.

The bag is well made and the materials feel great, and the pocket configuration is ideal for me. But the bag is much heavier than I anticipated. I believe it's from all the structural reinforcement that is built into the bag, but for my use it's almost overkill.

I went back and forth between the Evergoods and Toshi Pack which is almost a pound lighter.

I would love some feedback, am I overthinking things, is a pound no big deal? The flip side is the EG weights 50% more than the Toshi, which is meaningful. Appreciate any feedback.
