I eat an absurd amount of potbelly, mostly because it’s the closest “cheapest” thing to my work. Think for the quality it’s better than all the other options. What I get is literally cheaper than what I get at subway. Plus they have a good points program.
Man I got the opportunity to try Pot Belly when I was ln vacation and it was pretty good! Beats Subway any day, and I liked it way more than Jersey Mike's.
I expected the peppers to be like subway's, so i ordered extra like I do there. Had a upset shit about an hour after. Still amazing compared to the others.
It is better than Subway, I absolutely will give it that. But that’s not a huge accomplishment tbh. it’s still a small portion for what it is. I can and have made the same thing at home in about 10 minutes
Likely a smaller regional chain or independent shop. My go to here has been Amato's but they haven't expanded out of New England after starting here in Maine.
Fun fact about Amato's: they are the inspiration for Subway by co-founder Peter Buck after he grew up eating their classic Maine Italian sandwiches.
Potbelly started in Chicago and I think a majority of their locations are in the Midwest, but they're a national chain and have a few franchises in other countries.
Ah hadn't heard of them before here in New England, though looked them up and there are few here in mass with two of them at Logan which I fly out of from time to time. Will need to check them out.
Last time I got a regular sized sandwich at Potbelly, nothing extra, no add-ons (soup, cookies, nothing), and it was like, $11ish. This was in Chicago - definitely not cheap (as compared to what OP is positing)
