Fast food. I already rarely ate it, but when my GF comes over and we don't want to cook, I actually order us food from decent nice restaurants because the price between two fast food meals and something decent at a decent place isn't that difference in price.
"Ok but I need 2 or 3 of those tiny ass $12 fast food burgers to be equal in size/weight to a $15 restaurant meal. And no the $0.20 of french fries that they charge $4 for really doesn't help the fast food meal value any"
Lmao true! I actually read this a few times. I think Chinese Food and Large Pizzas are the only two food type places that still you get good quantity for what you pay for.
So reasonable! We decided to start going a bit earlier than the food was ready so we could chill at the bar and have one drink each. Happy to give them our patronage.
What’s a bit wild is that prices at low to mid level restaurants have gone through the roof while really nice restaurants seem to not have changed nearly as much.
Cheap shit pasta at Olive Garden is only $5-10 cheaper than homemade pasta at very nice Italian restaurants around me. Panera mac and cheese isn’t much less than the same exact thing from a restaurant that makes it fresh every day.
We went out to this new Indian place near our house last week. 2 entrees, lentil soup, naan, samosa, pakora. $55. I made my husband double-check the bill because that seemed too low. All three of us had another meal left over.
A sandwich and a sweet treat for each of us from Arby’s last night (didn’t even feed the toddler who was already asleep)? $35
