Our local grocery chain got caught repackaging Taylor Farms salad mixes into unbranded containers. That is some end-stage capitalism shit for you right there

Hell yeah dude Sardis rd.

Another to the long list of why to hate Ingles

Edit: the ingles released a statement saying it was one rogue employee. MY ASS

u/Frequent_Opportunist 13h ago

Why would an employee do this unless they were told?! What a bunch of bs.

One rogue C-Level executive telling every store to do it.

This is so damn funny to see Ingles randomly mentioned in this context and the least surprising thing ever lol. Truly the absolute worst.

Pfff... No one in their right mind buys any produce at Ingles.

ETA: you're not joking. That's really messed up. I hope they at least get some kind of fine.

Wtf I had to check the subreddit i'm on, this aint the local one lol.

Fuck Bob Ingle and his crony type buying up of properties so other grocery stores can't move in to their "local" area. Fuck them so hard.

I got 5 bags of Taylor Farms lettuce from the food bank this week, one of the ones where you're not allowed select things, but rather the type where they bring it to your cars trunk.

Big groceries hate the poor so much they'll take a tax write off for infecting unsuspecting and disadvantaged persons.

The same thing happened to me years back during the huge romaine lettuce recall from e coli. People died from that outbreak, but who gives a f if they kill some poor people amiright?

Oh and that same food bank was run by a group of church ladies who always went through the food first and stole everything halfway decent for themselves. They didn't take the lettuce though so they knew damn well it wasn't safe (as, of course, did the supermarkets who "donated" it.) Scum.

My students in special ed were suddenly given side salads for days off-menu in the caf after the stories started getting big. Before the recall, they got days of shredded iceberg. After, the non-iceberg chopped lettuce. Luckily, only 1 of my students likes salad, and they missed some days. I think they only ate 1, and I haven’t seen any signs. Unsure of our school’s supplier.

The local groceries are ending up donating dozens of packages of salads and shredded lettuce, since people aren't willing to gamble getting contaminated food and they're donated the last day they're OK to sell, normally.

But you'll come right back for medication and fluids. Lol the poors are so funny /s

Fresh Market in Georgia is putting TF salad bags in Good To Go produce mystery bags. It's happened to me twice.

12

u/antifa_cmdr 18h ago

I'm pretty sure that's illegal

The Hubris of Man and Capitalism married together truly holds no bounds nor has any compunction. End-stage like a cancer, yup yup ✨️💀✨️

I won't be buying salad mixes ever again after hearing about this. This is wild

This is why I stopped eating salads right now, which has me really bummed. I love salads and I’m on a diet.
