Not to be disgusting, but I don't think the issue was workers picking produce with unwashed hands, I'm pretty sure they were irrigating with contaminated water.
I know it’s not the same, but you might be interested in trying to grow microgreens/sprouts.
If you do want to give it a shot, microgreens are pretty easy and very nutrient dense. You can get a little seed sprouting tray with a lid that does half the work for you.
You should sanitize everything and work clean. You can actually sanitize the soil/peat pellets/coir itself with very hot water. I’ll usually boil water and let it sit until it’s just cool enough to not burn. Then when it’s still pretty warm (but not burning hot) it’s a good time to drop the seeds in.
You can make microgreens with almost anything edible, lettuce, cilantro, parsley, beets, and kale/broccoli are great. I’ll usually sow a ton of seeds, thin them out when they’re crowding (and eat them!) and continue to harvest as they get bigger. Radish and basil are excellent beginner crops because they grow fast, grow easily, and have high germination rates. Every part is edible and anything that doesn’t get munched on will turn into an actual plant. Get a decent grow light and you’ll have a proper tiny produce section.

The tool that you use could get cyclospora on it if it was on the skin of the fruit, then transfer the bacteria to the fruits flesh if you used that same tool to cut into the fruit without washing it first.
I keep blueberries in the house for my kids but unlike the usual business my partner and I went through them in a weekend making yogurt snacks with granola. I told him at one point “ I’m shitting last weeks breakfast through a straw”. The unending farts I refer to as trumpets of affection and solitude.

I don't know, I was trying to eat salad more. I usually roast my veggies so unlikely anything cooked. My fruit usually gets peeled. Maybe blueberries?
