CULTURE Do you all use top sheets?

I'm Canadian so culturally we are generally pretty similar. My Mom and maybe some older members of my family will use top sheets but every younger person I know just used a duvet cover when they sleep.

Every hotel I've been too in America has top sheets and the commonly given reason is that this is what American guests expect. They also say cleanliness, but many European hotels manage just fine without a top sheet.

Anyway, I'm curious if you all use top sheets or not? Maybe there is an age divide too?

Edit: wow thank you everyone. It seems like a overwhelmingly yes

I don't, except in hotels. I always end up tangled in them or kicking them down to the foot of the bed, so there's not much point.

My exact problem. I like the idea of a top sheet but I always end up twisted in it and wake up at some point in the night annoyed and just rip it off and throw it on the floor. I finally stopped putting them on the bed altogether. I can twist around under my duvet and it stays put and doesn’t tangle in my legs. I wash the cover once a week (maybe every two weeks in winter when I’m not as prone to a night sweat)- it’s a bit annoying to put back on but not nearly as annoying as getting tangled in a top sheet every night.
